OCT Atlas of the Head & Neck
Optical Coherence Tomography is an emerging imaging modality that
is established in many clinical disciplines in medicine, most
prominently in the management of retinal diseases. In
Otolaryngology, OCT is just beginning to be used by more surgeons,
primarily in academic medical centers.
At UC Irvine we have been performing OCT studies of the head and
neck in our patients since the early 2000s.
We established this website as an on-line resource for those
clinicians and scientists interested in learning more about the
structure of various tissues within the head and neck that are
evaluated by OCT.
This OCT website was established by Allen Foulad, a medical
student at UC Irvine, and is the fruit of his very hard labor. We
hope that you will enjoy looking through this on-line atlas.
